The Mieminger Plateau
Holiday Region
|
The Mieminger Plateau
is situated in the beautiful province of
Tyrol in Austria. This is a magic natural landscape characteristed by
green meadows, crystal clear lakes in the Fernpass, breathtaking forests
and the rocky mountains. This marvellous mountain plateau is home to the
holiday resorts Nassereith, Obsteig, Mieming and Wildermieming. |

This hiking paradise
is often used by the film industry. The unspoilt, breathtaking landscape
offers the ideal background for many a TV series. The most popular is, of
course, the „Bergdoktor“ with Harald Krassnitzer as the protagonist.
In the last two years the region was also the location for three parts of
the „Tatort“ series. Here the famous Tirolian director, Felix
Mitterer, made the following episodes: „Passion“ (on German
TV ZDF in July 2000), „Böses Blut“ (on German TV in 2001)
and „Elvis lebt“ (on TV in 2002). With
some luck perhaps you’ll meet your favorite actor here... |

the mountains, in- and outdoor swimming pools, tennis, mountaineering, canyoning,
golf, horse riding and trips in horse drawn coaches, curling, a place for

In summer you can enjoy walking barefoot
in the meadows and enjoy the marvellous Fernpass lakes. Children really
enjoy the adventures they can have. There are special adventure programmes
where trained group leaders take care of the little guests with a full schedule
of activities. Clowns, trips to the “Bergdoktor’s” house and hiking-safaris
all mixed in with a good dose of Punch and Judy Shows and children’s parties
guarantee to keep the little one happy and occupied. |

In winter the area is transformed
into a magical snow-filled landscape. You can experience the incredible
silence of a snow covered forest, go snowshoe hiking, walk on the romantic
winter hiking paths, enjoy a trip on a horse drawn sleigh through white
forests or enjoy skiing, cross-country skiing, ski-touring or enjoy the
thrills of a toboggan run. |
